The Greenhouse

The Greenhouse

Who loves a garden, loves a greenhouse too:

William Cowper

Emma said ‘When looking around the Suntrap site, I found myself drawn to the greenhouse. Full of brambles growing wild, finding their way in through tiny gaps in the structure; I felt it really represented nature at it’s best—wild and free.

Capturing the nature of the overgrown plants in contrast to the rigid structure and glass made the Greenhouse by far the most challenging of all the pieces to draw, but for me the most enjoyable.’

Much of her work captures interdependence of heritage buildings and nature, which makes her perfect for capturing and preserving a snapshot in time of the historic Suntrap building and grounds.

‘Through documenting the beautiful wildlife and buildings that they've called home for so long I hope I can capture the magical spirit and the stories it has to tell. I feel envious of children growing up in the borough and experiencing a school trip here’.
