FROM THE ARTIST

The Toowoomba Spring Flower Festival is a weekend destination for garden lovers all over Australia. The temperature is lower up on the mountain, and perfect for growing so many beautiful flowers that don't survive down on the coastal flats. I filled my camera with flower shots on this first visit, and wondered why after 24 years living so close to Toowoomba, I had never visited this spectacle of colour. I was instantly drawn to this magnificent river of Irises seemingly flowing down a grassed path towards the serenity of shaded paths beyond. Somehow the purples looked royal, parading above the borders of yellows and white. What a treat for the eyes!
