FROM THE ARTIST

The first Impressionists were a varied group of artists who actively broke the rules of the art world. As a contemporary impressionist try to visit some of the places they painted to get a feel for the scenes that captivated them over 100 years ago. Of course, many scenes bear no resemblance to their earlier days, however some still do, and the magic can be felt. Following the Cézanne trail walking the beautiful streets of Aix en Provence, the light is still the same and the atmosphere of history blended with life remains. Add some magnificent trees changing their garb for autumn and the magic worked....I had to capture it on canvas. WINNER 2021 International Juried Competition "Cityscapes" CAGO
